Brother CS7000i Review

Below we will mention the main features for the CS7000i and you can see if the machine is a match for your sewing projects.

How Many Stitches Come With The CS7000i?

This sewing machine comes with 70 built-in stitches, which is 10 more than the CS6000i, and 7 styles of 1 step buttonholes.

Some of the stitches are your basic, blind hem, buttonholes, quilt, applique, decorative heirloom, straight, satin, stretch and more.

The stitches are numbered and displayed on the front of this machine for easy referencing, just pick a stitch and see it displayed on the back-lite LCD display screen.

The maximum stitch length is 5 mm and the maximum stitch width is 7 mm, plus the machine will stitch up to 850 stitches per minute and has a speed control on the front of the machine.

When you select a stitch the LCD screen will show the recommended foot for that stitch also, and the machine has the reverse/reinforcement button for tying off stitches and reinforcement of stitches.

Bobbin And Easy Threading

To wind the bobbin follow the guides on the machine with thread going up through hole on the bobbin and placing bobbin on winder shaft.

Then move the winder shaft to the right and adjustable speed on high start the machine and wind thread 4 or 5 times, then stop machine and cut off excess thread, then finish winding, and when bobbin slows down stop machine and remove the bobbin, this is almost the standard way for winding most machines.

For this machine Brother recommends using only the bobbins designed for this model, as other will not work properly.

The CS7000i has a top loading bobbin system so by removing the cover just drop bobbin in so thread comes off counterclockwise, and follow the guides for the thread.

To thread the machine it is standard to most machines, and just follow the guides down to the needle threader which works with needle sizes 75/11 – 100/16.

This machine also has the tension control dial for the thread which might need to be adjusted depending on the fabrics or thread being used.

Does This Machine Have a Free Arm?

Yes it does, and is accessed by removing the accessory storage compartment by removing it to the left. You will then be able to sew shirt sleeves, cuffs, pants, etc.

Lights

The work area on this model is brightly lit up, making it easier on the eyes when sewing darker fabrics.

  1. Since I first found out about the computerized sewing machine, I got really hooked and I have been making some great research about them. This Brother CS7000i is so sleek and the features are also very nice too. One thing that gets me most about it is the ability to choose from different types of stiches. Maybe I should but this one.
