What Makes Of The Singer 7469Q A Good Model For Sewers And Quilters?

It’s designed to be a quality sewing machine with all the features any sewer and quilter, beginner to intermediate would want to have in a model to work on many sewing projects, from garment construction, home decor, piecing quilt tops and free motion quilting, it has all and it’s easy to set up and to work with.

Does The Singer 7469Q Have Enough Work space To Work On Big Quilts?

The work space between the needle and the throat of this model is much the same as other regular sewing machines, it’s a little small work space to work on big quilts, but it can be done if the quilter has experience or if you work to roll the quilt sides while you work on it on the free motion quilting.

If you want to work on big quilts often and you require a sewing machine that is designed to work better on this feature, I would recommend reading about the Brother PQ1500SL Quilting Machine

  1. My wife just mentioned to me that her sewing machine was starting to act up and she may need a new one this would be perfect for her, especially with her birthday coming up! I think she would enjoy the quilting aspect of it as well, 98 different stitches seems like a lot to use. Thank you for sharing, this is going to make her day!

  2. Thanks for your post, as I know so little about sewing machines, what I remember for sure is that Singer is, without doubt, one of the best brands around. I’m looking for one to give it as a present for my mother’s birthday.

The feed dogs located under the presser will be for her the killer functionality. The 98 built-in decorative styles would make my second favorite feature on this machine.

I’ll probably need to help her get to know what buttons to push at the beginning, but after a while, she’d be in good shape to use it alone. She is still lucid on her almost 80 years and she attributes her longevity to the fact of keeping her brain busy by activities like sewing.

I’m sure your mom will love this sewing machine, thanks so much for sharing that your mom is almost 80 years old and that she loves to sew.

  3. You have presented the Singer 7469Q sewing machine in a professional way. I have a similar sewing machine, Hyundai. It has about the same functions. But do not sew the lol alone, being an antitalent sewing. My daughter uses it from time to time. But let’s not forget that Singer started in Germany. I am from Europe and I do not agree with you that it can only be used in Canada and the USA. There are alternating current on the market, so it can be used at both 110 volts and 220 volts.

    • Hi Carmen

I think Singer must have some great sewing machines you can get in your country and made to work on 110 and 220 volts.

Yes, this model is a good one to have in the sewing room, as it can be used by sewers and quilters, Hyundai is also a good brand of sewing machines too.

  4. I have been searching for a long lasting sewing machine for sometime now. I hadn’t found any that I liked until now. I don’t know if this is new or if I was left in the dark on this subject, but it is nice to know that there are sewing machines that allow you to sew and quilt. My grandmother was a seamstress and she sewed everything by hand. She never used a sewing machine, even as the sewing machines became more and more modern.

My grandmother was stubborn like that. Anyway, she taught me how to sew just as she had learned how to sew, by hand. But I knew there was a better way, so I started doing research on faster ways to sew and I came across some very impressive sewing machines. I sewed my grandmother a blanket using the sewing machine. She was able to tell that I did not sew it by hand. She liked the blanket nonetheless, and had a change of heart when it came to sewing machines from that moment forward

    • Hi,

I love to hear how sewers learned to sew, and your story about how your grandmother learned to sew by hand and how she did it all her life is amazing, it takes longer to do everything by hand but there are some sewers like your grandma that they are great at it.

It’s good you also learned from her, and I’m sure you’ll be a great sewer, yes this is a good sewing machine to make many projects.

  6. I would like to get the Singer 7469Q Confidence Quilter very much, I especially like how quiet it is. Unfortunately over on this side of the pond we’re running on 220 volts. Are you sure they don’t offer a version for our power grid? Can you reccommend a similar model that is has 200 volt support?
